A third of this amount was accounted for by the Leningrad Region; this year the region set a record for itself in terms of the value of agreements concluded. The forum was attended by 13 thousand people.

During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), its participants concluded more than 800 agreements worth 3.8 trillion rubles, said Anton Kobyakov, Presidential Adviser, Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, reports TASS.

“Businessmen from all over the world, Russian businessmen have signed over 800 agreements at this forum. The total amount of agreements <…> is 3 trillion 860 billion rubles, ”Kobyakov said.

For example, the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, said that the region had concluded agreements for a record amount of 1.32 trillion rubles. – a third of the total amount of agreements concluded on the forum. The Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, in turn, said that by the morning of June 5, the total amount of agreements signed by his region exceeded 200 billion rubles. Also, an agreement for 250 billion rubles. The Belgorod region signed with the NLMK group, and for 300 million rubles. – with the Veropharm company. Samara Region has agreed to invest 60 billion rubles.

Summing up the results of the SPIEF, which took place from 2 to 5 June, the head of the organizing committee Kobyakov said that the forum was attended by:

  • 13 thousand people from 140 countries
  • 11 thousand Russian and foreign companies
  • 800 “top companies” represented by their CEOs
  • In addition, during the SPIEF, specialists conducted 52 thousand tests for coronavirus, of which about 500 were positive.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that there was a “full house” at the forum. “Skeptics predicted a lower level of business participation, but the forum is nevertheless very popular. We see it, a full house, ”he noted.

Last year, the traditional forum was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, so this year, according to Peskov, one can feel how “yearned” the participants are.

President Vladimir Putin made a speech at SPIEF 2021, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, Deputy Prime Ministers Yuri Borisov, Marat Khusnullin, Alexander Novak, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev, Sberbank Head German Gref, head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, prosecutor general Igor Krasnov and others.
