The Ministry of Economic Development reported that, together with the Federal Customs Service and industry departments, it is developing a set of measures aimed at simplifying and speeding up control procedures in the field of foreign trade.

“A number of decisions being prepared are aimed at providing importers with a deferral and installment payment of customs duties. These measures will allow companies to save working capital,” the report says.

The ministry also notes that, in agreement with the Rosselkhoznadzor, it is planned to accept copies of certificates as part of phytosanitary and veterinary control. In addition, importers will be able to present electronic or paper copies of certificates of origin of goods with subsequent submission or forwarding of the originals.

“The possibility of increasing imports of agricultural products and industrial goods from a number of developing countries to the Russian Federation is also being considered. The nomenclature is being developed jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. These and other proposals will be discussed at the next meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission,” the Ministry of Economic Development notes.
