From 22 to 24 September, chaired by the Director of the Department of Transport and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Dauren Sabitov, the second meeting of the Working Group on the preparation of a draft roadmap for 2021-2023 on the implementation of a coordinated (agreed) transport policy was held.

The members of the working group confirmed their intention to include in the draft “road map” measures aimed at liberalizing transport services, taking into account the peculiarities of the development of each type of transport, and transition to electronic document management.

The meeting participants generally agreed on a general section of the roadmap and a section on the development of water transport. Attention was paid to measures for the development of intelligent transport systems in the EAEU, Eurasian transport corridors, multimodal and container transport, as well as ensuring transit and information exchange.

Given the sensitivity of the issue and the need to agree on further steps to liberalize the air transport sector, the members of the working group agreed to hold an extraordinary meeting by the end of September.

It is planned to continue the discussion of all sections of the draft “road map” at the next meeting of the working group in mid-October this year.
