According to the Federal Customs Service, in January-July 2021, Russia’s foreign trade turnover grew by 34.3% in annual terms and amounted to 420.8 billion dollars.

Russian exports amounted to $ 258.2 billion, an increase of 37.7%. Non-CIS countries accounted for 87.1%, CIS countries – 12.9%.

The basis of Russian exports in January-July 2021 was traditionally fuel and energy products, the share of which in the commodity structure of exports amounted to 51.7% (in January-July 2020 – 54.2%). In the commodity structure of exports to non-CIS countries, the share of these goods amounted to 55.7% (in January-July 2020 – 59.1%), to the CIS countries – 24.9% (24.3%).

Russia’s imports in January-July amounted to $ 162.6 billion and increased by 29.2% compared to January-July last year. Far-abroad countries accounted for 89.4%, CIS countries – 10.6%.

In the commodity structure of imports, the largest share fell on machinery and equipment – 49.6% (in January-July 2020 – 46.3%). In the commodity structure of imports from non-CIS countries, the share of these goods amounted to 53.1% (in January-July 2020 – 49.4%), from the CIS countries – 20.6% (21.6%). The value of the import of these products increased by 38.9% compared to January-July last year, including mechanical equipment by 26.8%, electrical equipment – by 25.7%, instruments and optical devices – by 8.0% … The physical volume of imports of cars and trucks increased by 1.8 times.

In the country structure of Russia’s foreign trade, the European Union accounted for 35.8% of Russian trade in January-July (in January-July 2020 – 34.8%), the CIS countries – 12% (12.9%), the EAEU countries – 8.8% (8.9%), for the APEC countries – 34.2% (34.5%).
